Role Overview
The Product Designer II within the CNN Ad Experience team plays a pivotal role in enhancing CNN’s digital advertising platforms across multiple touchpoints such as desktop web, mobile web and app, and video. This position focuses on merging user experience with business goals to deliver premium, respectful, and innovative ad solutions using first-party data.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely as a key member of the product design team working on evolving CNN’s advertising footprints across various digital platforms.
- Design user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate product features and solutions.
- Lead and contribute to user research sessions and usability testing to gain insights into consumer behavior and preferences.
- Build, maintain, and contribute to the design system components to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Advocate for design principles and serve the needs of editorial teams while supporting the product roadmap.
- Engage with stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams to brainstorm, conceptualize, and validate innovative ad products and offerings that enhance CNN’s monetization strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a product designer, preferably within advertising technology, marketing technology, or growth design contexts.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma, including working with variables, components, styles, and shared libraries.
- Strong product-oriented mindset with the ability to define and prioritize problems to inform design efforts.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Experienced in leveraging design system elements to deliver scalable and delightful user experiences.
- Previous involvement with consumer-facing digital products, preferably in large organizations; experience in news or media sectors is advantageous.
- Proven track record of managing design tasks and collaborating cross-functionally across multiple disciplines.
- Developing expertise in user experience design best practices such as usability principles, user research methods, and testing techniques including A/B and multivariate testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or commensurate professional experience.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $88,900 to $165,100 annually, influenced by factors including market data, experience, performance, and location. Additional remuneration may include bonuses, incentives, and awards tailored to programs.
