Role Overview
The CNN Ad Experience team integrates user experience with the company's main revenue drivers, focusing on creating premium advertising powered by first-party data and exceptional design. The Product Designer II will contribute to unifying advertisement user interfaces across desktop, mobile web, mobile apps, and video platforms, innovating ad formats, and crafting effective tools to maintain respectful, pertinent ads.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in shaping CNN’s advertising products and their digital presence.
- Design user flows, create mockups, and develop interactive prototypes to clearly conceptualize new product features.
- Lead efforts involving user research and usability testing to enhance understanding of consumer interactions.
- Develop, contribute to, and upkeep components within the design system.
- Advocate for design principles, sustain design systems, and support editorial team needs within product roadmaps.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to ideate, validate, and evolve new advertisement products and placements for CNN monetization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a product designer, preferably in ad tech, marketing technology, or growth-focused design roles.
- Strong knowledge of Figma including advanced features such as variables, components, styles, and shared libraries.
- Clear product thinking skills to assist teams in prioritizing and understanding problems during the design process.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in employing design system components to build scalable and engaging user experiences.
- Experience designing consumer-facing products in large organizations; familiarity with news or media sectors is advantageous.
- Record of managing design tasks effectively and collaborating across multiple disciplines.
- Progressing expertise in user experience best practices, including usability principles, user research methods, A/B and multi-variant testing, design theory, and interaction design concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or comparable professional experience.

Compensation and Benefits
The position offers an annual salary between $88,900 and $165,100, supplemented by potential bonuses, incentives, and program-specific awards.
