Job description
Role Overview
The Procurement Officer will help organize sourcing activities, negotiate commercial terms, and make sure goods and services are obtained on time. The role is focused on improving cost efficiency, keeping inventory at suitable levels, building strong supplier partnerships, checking supplier performance, and ensuring purchasing activities follow internal policies and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set out the supply strategy, explain its impact, and align it with stakeholders.
- Use market and competitor intelligence to refine sourcing approaches and respond to competitive risks.
- Identify and remove internal obstacles that affect service quality for internal and external customers.
- Act in a professional, ethical, and transparent manner in line with the organization’s framework, and encourage the same standards in others.
- Handle financial and budget responsibilities for the assigned area.
- Define metrics, tools, and workflows that improve sourcing outcomes, supplier performance, and efficiency.
- Drive savings and operating cash flow initiatives within the assigned product or service category.
- Promote continuous operational improvement in strategic sourcing.
- Build and apply procurement practices that maximize value from procurement activities.
- Create and manage a strategic plan that captures total procurement value and strengthens competitive advantage.
- Adopt best practices across the company to help achieve strategic goals and unlock business opportunities.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to improve service levels while lowering supply costs.
- Identify and analyze cost-saving opportunities and help deliver financial targets.
- Manage the consolidation and rationalization of suppliers, materials, and services to match business needs.
- Support HSE initiatives, take part in safety awareness efforts, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in line with company and IMS requirements.
Additional Information
This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is a full-time, on-site position. It is intended for a fresh graduate.
