Currently in its Manufacturing, Construction, and Commissioning phase, it supports national emission reduction goals and job creation during peak construction.
Role Overview
Join Marinus Link as a Procurement Manager within the Finance & Commercial team, based in Hobart or Melbourne. This permanent, full-time role involves leadership of comprehensive procurement and contracting activities, guiding sourcing processes from strategy through execution while ensuring adherence to governance and commercial standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage complex sourcing and tendering activities from planning to contract award.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to achieve commercial objectives, provide procurement counsel, and engage with Legal where necessary.
- Negotiate, prepare, and administer contracts, overseeing claims, variations, and contract performance issues.
- Develop and review detailed scope documents, focusing on professional service engagements.
- Maintain and evolve standard contract templates, documentation, and procedures for Marinus Link.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary tender evaluations ensuring governance, probity, and documentation quality.
- Create procurement reports, including dashboards and executive summaries covering risk, status, and realized savings for informed leadership decisions.
- Seek opportunities to enhance procurement efficiency, savings, and organizational capability.
- Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful delivery.
- Operate within approved Delegations of Authority, preparing reports for Procurement Review Group and Board on various procurement topics.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrates commitment to safety aligned with Marinus Link's Culture Charter.
- Possesses relevant tertiary qualifications such as economics, law, engineering, quantity surveying, business, or commerce.
- Holds minimum seven years' experience managing end-to-end procurement for large-scale infrastructure, construction, or utility projects.
- Strong expertise in procurement governance, tender processes, contract management, and commercial risk mitigation; familiarity with security of payment laws in Victoria and Tasmania is advantageous.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, communication, and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities managing multiple sourcing efforts within complex, multi-year programs.
- Experienced in preparing procurement reports and presenting commercial insights to senior leadership.
- Proficient with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Folio, InEight, or similar ERP, contract management, and e-sourcing platforms.
- Background in utilities, major projects, infrastructure sectors, or legal and quantity surveying disciplines is favorable.
