Role Overview
The Process Excellence Teamleader will drive continuous improvement work across the site through practical use of Lean and other improvement methods. The role focuses on delivering measurable gains in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost while also coaching team members and helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement into everyday operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver process excellence projects that create lasting improvements in cost, quality, productivity, service, and overall operational performance.
- Support a safe working environment and strengthen 5S practices through audits, improvement actions, and visible best-practice leadership.
- Review, map, and improve business processes, including helping to build and standardize SOPs and work instructions.
- Strengthen performance management through KPI tracking, visual controls, and structured follow-up on performance issues.
- Spot, rank, and implement improvement opportunities by applying Lean tools, Kaizen workshops, and systematic problem-solving methods.
- Work with Finance and other stakeholders to confirm, monitor, and deliver financial benefits and savings from improvement work.
- Maintain standards for process excellence, including methodology, documentation, reporting, and project governance.
- Coordinate with site and cross-functional teams to share good practices, align approaches, and support initiatives across multiple sites.
- Develop continuous improvement capability by coaching employees and leaders, encouraging ownership on the frontline, and making CI part of the normal way of working.
- Provide daily leadership, coaching, performance support, and work prioritization for direct reports.
- Work with leadership to identify and execute improvement priorities that support business objectives.
- Take on additional tasks and projects as needed, including occasional travel.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in Engineering, Business, Chemistry, Operations, or a related discipline; equivalent education and experience combinations are also acceptable.
- Proven experience leading continuous improvement work in a technical, manufacturing, laboratory, supply chain, or operational setting.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is mandatory.
- Solid leadership background with experience in coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence practices.
- Experience running improvement projects and supporting organizational change.
- Hands-on experience facilitating Kaizen events, process-mapping sessions, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving.
- Strong analytical ability along with practical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to influence others, work collaboratively, and build productive relationships across teams and levels.
- Experience defining, tracking, and interpreting KPIs and other performance metrics.
- Well-developed organizational, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional fluency in German and English.
