About the Role
Join The Home Depot as a Paint Pro Sales Specialist where your passion for helping customers and knowledge of paint products will drive project success. This role requires deep familiarity with paint-related products and services, offering personalized recommendations to professional customers and homeowners alike.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Dedicate at least 25% of your time actively seeking new professional paint customers within the department.
- Build and nurture one-on-one relationships with returning pro customers, becoming their trusted paint advisor.
- Stay updated on market trends, new suppliers, and product introductions to keep customers well informed.
- Provide accurate quotes and maintain current pro account records efficiently.
- Organize and manage detailed profiles for top pro paint accounts and cultivate new business opportunities.
- Use advanced knowledge of merchandise and commercial loyalty programs to maximize sales.
- Achieve and often exceed personal and team set goals including sales targets, quotes, and credit accounts.
- Provide expert advice on paint merchandise features and benefits to support customer decisions and respond to queries from general customers.
Customer Satisfaction and Service
- Drive sales and pro-xtra program enrollments to meet supervisor-established targets.
- Generate customer quotes and process multiple order channels quickly and accurately, ensuring seamless communication with pullers and delivery coordinators.
- Conduct follow-ups with customers to maintain satisfaction and encourage repeat business, collaborating with store management for issue resolution.

Physical and Environmental Demands
- Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving heavy or bulky items without help.

- Comfortable climbing ladders up to 16 feet to stock or retrieve merchandise.
- Frequent walking and standing to assist customers throughout the store.
- Ability to read and identify reports, tickets, and UPC labels accurately.
- Aware of uneven floor surfaces, exposure to dust, noise, drafts, slippery floors, sharp tools, and occasional gas fumes from forklifts.
Additional Information
- Minimum education required is a GED or High School Diploma equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience is necessary; paint experience is an asset.
- This position reports directly to the Department Supervisor.
- The hourly pay range for this role is between $21.70 and $23.70.
- The selection process includes AI-assisted screening to ensure consistent and fair evaluation while maintaining human oversight.
