Role Overview
This is a remote contract opportunity for an experienced compliance and regulatory attorney. The work involves creating high-quality legal reasoning examples and assessing the responses produced by frontier language models. The subject matter covers AML/BSA, FCPA, FDA, HIPAA, sanctions, privacy, and related regulatory areas.
Compensation and Time Commitment
The engagement pays between $100 and $150 per hour. The expected minimum availability is 15 hours each week, although 40+ hours per week is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Build realistic compliance scenarios based on practical matters such as AML and SAR preparation, OFAC screening, FCPA reviews, FDA-related submissions, HIPAA assessments, and privacy impact analyses.
- Draft attorney-level benchmark answers that can be used as reference responses for model training.
- Review and score model-generated legal answers using structured evaluation criteria, and provide written comments to help improve performance.
- Take part in onboarding sessions and specialized calibration discussions with the research team.
Candidate Profile
- Solid background in regulatory or compliance law gained through a law firm, in-house legal team, government office, or regulatory authority.
- Holding a J.D. from the U.S. or Canada, or an LL.B./LL.M. from an accredited law school, with an active or inactive U.S. law license.
- Hands-on experience in one or more specialist areas such as AML/BSA, OFAC sanctions, anti-corruption/FCPA, healthcare regulation, FDA submissions, privacy work including GDPR/CCPA/DPIA, environmental permitting, or export controls.
- Excellent legal writing ability and very strong attention to detail.
