Prison Support Officer - HMP Grendon and Springhill

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Operational Support Grade (OSG) to contribute to the efficient functioning of HMP Grendon and HMP Springhill. This vital role involves a variety of responsibilities including security tasks like gate searches, managing deliveries, supervising visitors, monitoring phone calls and CCTV, and performing physical duties such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across prison grounds. The position demands shift flexibility, including night and weekend duties, to ensure continuous operational support.

Candidate Profile

No formal qualifications are required, but strong communication skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure are essential. Good judgment, common sense, and teamwork are critical to successfully maintaining a safe and smooth-running prison environment. A full, valid UK Driving Licence is mandatory as driving is a core component of this role.

Work Environment and Career Opportunities
