Role Overview
Join His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Grendon and Springhill. This full-time position involves supporting the daily operations of a busy prison environment through a mix of administrative and physical tasks.
Key Duties
- Maintain security procedures including performing searches at entry points.
- Manage deliveries and supervise visitors during their time on site.
- Monitor prison activities via phone call and CCTV surveillance.
- Support prisoner escort operations by walking alongside vehicles across prison grounds.
- Fulfill driving responsibilities as required, necessitating a full, valid UK driving license.
- Work diverse shifts covering nights and weekends to ensure continuous operation.
Candidate Profile
No formal qualifications are required. Success in this role depends on strong communication abilities, composure under pressure, sound judgment, and effective teamwork skills. Direct prisoner contact is limited but may occur occasionally depending on specific prison circumstances.

- Starting salary of £29,432 per annum.
- Annual leave of 25 days, increasing to 30 days after ten years of service (pro-rata).
