Job description

Role Overview

Join HMP Bullingdon as an Operational Support Grade, contributing to the essential functions that ensure the smooth daily operations of a busy prison environment. This varied position combines administrative duties with physically active tasks, including security checks, managing deliveries, supervising visitors, and overseeing monitoring systems such as phone calls and CCTV.

  • Monitor telecommunications and CCTV systems.
  • Carry out physical duties like lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across prison grounds.
  • Work flexibly across various shifts, including weekends and nights, to support operational needs.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should be good communicators who remain calm under pressure and demonstrate sound judgement and teamwork. Prior qualifications are not required, but possessing a full, valid UK driving licence with D1 category entitlement is mandatory for vehicle operation within the prison grounds.

Additional Information

  • Location considerations: HMP Bullingdon is in a rural area with limited public transportation; having personal transport and a driving licence is highly beneficial.

  • Contact with inmates is limited but may occasionally occur.
