About the role

Trade and Investment Queensland is the Queensland Government’s global business agency, focused on connecting Queensland with international markets and opportunities. This role sits within a team that works across varied and complex priorities, supporting the state’s global engagement and growth.

Key capabilities and experience

  • You should be able to help translate strategic priorities into practical, purposeful action.
  • Significant experience in trade and investment-related work is needed, including the ability to spot export and investment opportunities for Queensland.
  • You must be comfortable working through ambiguity and supporting change in a client-facing setting.
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound commercial judgement are important for handling complex issues and producing workable solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong negotiation skills, and resilience under pressure are essential when managing competing demands.
