This is a contract engagement with a consolidated pay of Rs. 1.50 lakh per month. The appointment can run for up to 5 years and may be renewed annually, subject to performance.

About the Centre

The Centre for Insolvency and Bankruptcy was established to advance research and to deliver professional education and training in insolvency and bankruptcy laws as well as public policy. It aims to build a broad-based approach to professionalizing insolvency law education within the larger social and economic context. The Centre also launched a two-year Graduate Insolvency Programme in 2019 to develop interdisciplinary learning, encourage critical thinking, and strengthen analytical skills through modern academic resources and technology.

Eligibility and qualifications

Applicants should have a consistently strong academic background and a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, PGIP/LLM (Insolvency), or another relevant allied/concerned discipline, or an equivalent qualification. The role calls for an eminent scholar with published research in the relevant field and at least 5 years of experience in teaching, industry, research, or professional practice.

Candidates coming from industry or the profession may also apply if they have a strong academic record, an established professional reputation, and meaningful contributions to knowledge and practice in the relevant discipline, supported by evidence. For such applicants, a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry/professional experience is required.

A PhD in a relevant subject is desirable. The upper age limit is under 65 years as on the closing date, though exceptional candidates may be considered with relaxation.
