Job description
Role overview
This position carries operational responsibility for leading, coordinating, planning, delivering, and reporting on major capital works and maintenance projects. The role works in close partnership with Campus Support Services (CSS) and Queensland Health to support project delivery at the Coopers Plains facility for Forensic Science Queensland (FSQ).
Key responsibilities
- Direct the planning, coordination, and delivery of substantial infrastructure and maintenance initiatives for FSQ, making sure outcomes meet the required service standards.
- Manage projects in line with FSQ strategy, internal policies, systems, and procedures, as well as the Government’s Capital Works and Maintenance Management Frameworks and other applicable whole-of-Government policies.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and service providers, including CSS, and help shape and implement new approaches to meet FSQ facility service needs.
- Spot developing issues, risks, and changing priorities that could affect delivery, then take prompt action with suitable mitigation strategies.
- Track, evaluate, forecast, and report on project performance so FSQ can achieve its strategic and operational targets and deliver initiatives as scheduled.
- Offer senior-level guidance to FSQ leadership and the Director on project planning and delivery progress, projected expenditure, risks, and emerging matters.
- Complete other duties as needed to support the objectives of FSQ and the Department of Justice.
