What You’ll Do
- Keep the supervisor informed about team capacity and the skills needed to deliver the work.
- Make sure project coverage is maintained during leave or unexpected absences, and help coach, train, and support team learning.
- Promote awareness of, and adherence to, company processes and project requirements.
- Address and help resolve issues that arise between disciplines, vendors, and clients.
- Ensure all technical work and team activities follow health, safety, environmental, and security standards.
- Analyze technical problems, compare possible solutions, outline the advantages and disadvantages, and recommend the best option for formal project documents such as technical queries and technical deviations.
- Prepare final documents with all required information and obtain internal approval.
- May examine similar documents to support colleagues and review/approve work completed by direct reports.
- Carry out discipline-specific design and drafting work.
- Confirm that project scope is clearly understood and that any scope changes are handled through formal change management procedures.
- Where needed, take part in studies and analyses and suggest suitable actions.
- Prepare and supervise the creation of engineering drawings and supporting documentation.
- Verify that all drawings and documents are checked according to Worley’s checking process.
- Join project reviews when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade Apprenticeship, Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology with a Mechanical/Piping focus.
- Brownfield offshore experience is essential.
- Strong background in detailed piping design gained through design contractors and/or oil and gas companies.
- Broad design experience in a similar industry, with experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary projects and teams where relevant.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in 2D design tools such as AutoCAD and Micro-Station.
- Experience with 3D design platforms including PDS, S3D/PDMS, and E3D.
- Working knowledge of 3D review tools like Navisworks and SPR.
- LFM proficiency.
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
