Job description

Role Overview

The Principal Advisor for Youth Detention Recruitment leads and supports a recruitment team focused on staffing Queensland youth detention centres. This role primarily manages recruitment for Detention Youth Worker positions but extends to other roles as necessary. The position involves delivering expert advice and coordinating recruitment processes to ensure culturally sensitive recruitment practices are employed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the recruitment team.
  • Provide expert advice on recruitment strategies and candidate selection tailored to youth detention environments.
  • Guide and implement culturally appropriate talent attraction and assessment methods.
  • Assist with the execution of strategic recruitment projects within a complex workforce setting.
  • Manage coordination of external service providers including agencies for recruitment, medical and functional assessments, and reference verification.
