Job description
About the company
Forto is using AI to help reshape a long-established global industry. The company’s goal is to make digital supply chains more open, smoother to run, and more sustainable. Since launch, its mission has been to streamline international trade and create a logistics experience that is simpler and more efficient.
The role
As part of the Pricing Desk Europe, you will support commercial growth by preparing accurate and timely quotations. You will work closely with commercial stakeholders and technology teams to improve pricing processes, strengthen the customer experience, and contribute to Forto’s broader growth strategy.
Key duties
- Produce precise sea freight quotes within the expected turnaround time to help commercial teams win new business.
- Create and refine pricing approaches using market rates, carrier inputs, and lane-specific trends, while coordinating with trade, commercial, and operations teams to keep strategy and execution aligned.
- Check rate calculations, surcharges, and currency conversions carefully to protect margins and ensure pricing accuracy.
- Keep pricing tools, rate sheets, and templates updated and dependable in Excel or Google Sheets so that records remain consistent and reliable.
- Work with Tech and Product teams to improve pricing systems and automate quotation workflows, connecting traditional freight forwarding with digital solutions.
- Support pricing operations so they remain scalable and sustainable across the European sea freight network.
What we are looking for
- Some practical exposure to logistics, ideally sea freight, along with curiosity about pricing structures and carrier market behavior.
- Strong command of Excel or Google Sheets for handling, reviewing, and validating pricing data.
- A structured, detail-focused, and self-directed way of working, with good organization and time management.
- An inquisitive mindset and the confidence to question existing methods and try better approaches.
- Comfort working on your own while also partnering effectively with commercial and technology teams.
- Business-level fluency in both German and English.
- Energy, adaptability, and motivation to perform in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.

The employer encourages people to apply even if they do not match every requirement. If you are interested in the role and connect with the company’s values, your application is still welcome, as there may be a suitable fit either in this position or another one.
