Role Overview
As a Pricing Analyst within the Surgery franchise based in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah or Riyadh), you will support strategic pricing initiatives that maximize value from innovation and foster value-based pricing. This role involves leading pricing-related activities, particularly tender submissions and market analysis, to enhance profitability and business performance within the Surgery portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate proactively with business partners and strategic account management teams to guide pricing decisions aligned with value-based objectives and innovation maximization.
- Support the Pricing Lead by conducting multifactor pricing analyses to detect trends, identify causes of profitability leaks or price erosion, and formulate actionable recommendations.
- Head private sector indirect tender submissions in Saudi Arabia and assist with direct tender submissions.
- Examine tender quotations and profitability, perform win/loss reviews, pricing simulations, and debrief to build actionable tender intelligence to improve future success rates.
- Utilize historical tender data, competitive analysis, and market benchmarks to bolster pricing strategy development.
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness of monthly Price Performance reports and business reviews.
- Ensure compliance with local and regional pricing governance policies and guidelines.
- Support business efforts to optimize product mix for enhanced profitability.
- Lead price escalation processes, providing detailed analysis based on key performance metrics.
- Aid in developing governance frameworks and discount matrices to ensure disciplined pricing adherence.
- Run price change simulations to optimize sales, gross profit, and product mix during pricing list updates.
- Conduct pricing training sessions for sales and marketing teams to build their capability in influencing pricing decisions and understanding product positioning.
- Continuously improve pricing analytics and reporting using tools like Power BI to increase business visibility.
- Ensure product data and price lists are accurate and consistent with regulatory requirements.
- Manage pricing approvals within systems ensuring pricing alignment with guidelines.
- Lead or support projects related to pricing and tenders as needed.
- Keep pricing SOPs updated and ensure SOX-compliant pricing controls and processes.
- Coordinate timely submission of pricing condition reports within SAP for SOX compliance.
- Maintain and enhance Price and Profitability Tools to support business decision-making.
- Keep pricing data current in SAP to support seamless order processing.
- Provide training and change management support for users of tender-related modules.
- Promote regulatory compliance and promptly report any deviations.
- Commit to personal training requirements to perform job duties effectively.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Business, or Engineering.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in pricing, tenders, or finance, preferably within the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and technical skills, including pricing strategy understanding, commercial acumen, and modeling abilities.
- Exceptional business insight and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in English and Arabic; knowledge of French is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with business partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to influence decisions using data-driven insights.
- Strong presentation and proactive information sharing skills.
- Flexible, solution-focused, and able to operate with a high sense of urgency.
