Job description
About Wise
Wise is a worldwide technology company focused on making cross-border money movement and international account activity simpler, faster, and more affordable. Its mission is to help people and businesses send money abroad, spend internationally, and receive payments from other countries with less friction and lower cost.
The company is building a new kind of network for global money, designed to serve users everywhere.
Role Overview
This position is a great fit for a creative and inquisitive public relations professional who wants to grow in media relations and storytelling within a fast-scaling organization with regional reach. The role centers on day-to-day press office work for Thailand, one of Wise’s newer markets in APAC, while also supporting PR activity in Indonesia and Hong Kong.
The work is highly practical and execution-driven, ideal for someone who enjoys writing, developing strong story angles, and helping shape brand visibility from an early stage.
Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Singapore. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this role.
Key Responsibilities
You will help build the Thailand press office from the ground up by mapping the media environment, identifying the most relevant journalists and publications, and establishing earned media visibility in a new market.
The role also involves quickly identifying newsworthy opportunities tied to travel, finance, and culture, and turning those moments into relevant media stories for Wise.
You will look beyond traditional press coverage and develop story ideas with strong social appeal, including content that is visually engaging, culturally relevant, and likely to gain earned traction on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
In addition, you will maintain ongoing media relations and reactive press support for Indonesia and Hong Kong, working with agency partners when needed.
You will collaborate closely with the Asia marketing team on integrated campaigns and product launch communications, and you will own measurement, reporting, and retrospective reviews for your markets.
What You Should Bring
You should have 2 to 4 years of experience in PR or communications, either in-house or at an agency, with direct media relations experience.
Strong writing ability is essential, including experience drafting press releases, pitch emails, and briefing notes in a clear and persuasive style that can be adapted for different audiences and journalists.
You should be able to think creatively and develop story-led ideas rather than relying only on product announcements, finding angles that make information genuinely newsworthy.
Curiosity and a willingness to learn quickly are important, especially when working across regional markets.
You also need an understanding of how earned media can spread through social channels in Southeast Asia, and an ability to identify shareable, social-first story opportunities.
Comfort with ambiguity is important, since this role involves building from a near-zero base with support where needed.
English proficiency is required. Thai language ability is a strong advantage, though it is not mandatory.
