Job description
Role overview
BroadPeak is an Atlanta-based investment platform creating a new electric vehicle business dedicated to last-mile delivery and commercial fleet use. The company will design, assemble, and distribute purpose-built electric delivery and utility vehicles through a Georgia assembly operation and a nationwide franchise/dealer channel. These vehicles are built for business customers who need dependable, zero-emission work vehicles for applications such as last-mile delivery, golf, agriculture, campus logistics, commercial property, and trade services. Customers can private-label the vehicles in their own brand, colors, and livery. BroadPeak positions itself as the platform while its customers own the brand experience.
The business is supported by a specialized EV manufacturing partner with more than 25 years of production experience and ongoing assembly activity across several international markets. Vehicles will be assembled in Georgia to U.S. specifications and sold in all 50 states. This is a founder-backed venture with patient capital and a phased build strategy: certification first, channel development second, and growth third.
Position summary
This founding President & Chief Operating Officer role is the senior operating leadership position responsible for building, leading, and scaling the EV company from the ground up. The role carries full P&L ownership across commercial strategy, operations, manufacturing execution, and market launch performance, while also leading both the operating company and its vehicle brand.
The successful leader will report to the Chairman & CEO of BroadPeak Investment Group and will work closely with that executive during the early stages, especially on regulatory, capital, and manufacturing-partner matters. Day-to-day execution will sit with this role. It is a rare opportunity to shape a company from inception, with significant room to grow alongside the platform as it expands nationwide.
First 18 months
Results in this role will be judged by concrete business outcomes rather than activity alone. Early success will be measured by the following milestones:
- Launch the Conyers, Georgia assembly operation, including site readiness, equipment installation, workforce ramp-up with state Quick Start training support, standard operating procedures, and quality systems.
- Move the vehicles through U.S. certification and compliance, including FMVSS / LSV self-certification through NHTSA and the broader regulatory path, working with legal counsel and the manufacturer.
- Finalize the Franchise Disclosure Document and create a fully compliant dealer/franchise program before any franchise sales begin.
- Build and activate the national dealer, distributor, and franchise network and secure the first franchise and fleet customers.
- Define unit economics, margin discipline, and a repeatable production-to-delivery model that can scale from pilot volumes to several thousand units annually.
Primary responsibilities
The COO will own the following areas of the business:
- Full P&L accountability, including revenue, margin, cash flow, and operating performance.
- End-to-end manufacturing and assembly leadership for the Conyers facility, covering site operations, workforce development, production scaling, quality control, and the manufacturer relationship, including supply planning, CKD/SKD execution, and product coordination.
- Commercial and go-to-market leadership across B2B channels, including strategy for target verticals and fleet customers, sales, marketing, pricing, and activation of dealer, distributor, and franchise channels.
- Regulatory and certification oversight for U.S. market compliance, including FMVSS/NHTSA certification, import and customs strategy, and state-level LSV, registration, dealer, and franchise requirements.
- Brand stewardship and growth for the vehicle brand as a private-label-ready identity.
- Recruiting and developing a lean leadership team in manufacturing/plant operations, sales/channel, and finance as scale warrants.
- Representing the company with customers, partners, regulators, and industry stakeholders as a senior external leader.
Candidate profile
The ideal background comes from the EV, small-vehicle, or low-speed vehicle sector, such as golf cart, PTV, utility vehicle, neighborhood EV, or commercial last-mile businesses, with firsthand experience in assembly, certification, and dealer-network operations.
Two capabilities are essential: proven, hands-on success scaling a vehicle or equipment assembly/manufacturing business, preferably with CKD/SKD or OEM/contract manufacturing exposure, and a demonstrated track record of building and selling through B2B dealer, distributor, or franchise networks. Strong depth in one area and credible command of the other is expected.
The role also calls for 10–15+ years of executive leadership in automotive, EV, fleet, equipment, or related manufacturing sectors, with direct P&L ownership. Strong commercial understanding of fleet markets or related verticals such as delivery, agriculture, golf, utilities, municipal operations, or trades is important. Familiarity with certification and import frameworks, including FMVSS/NHTSA, customs/tariff matters, and state registration, is needed; franchise and FDD knowledge is a plus. Exposure to last-mile, parcel, or freight operations, along with experience in large-scale electric fleet deployments, will be highly relevant.
Working style
The right leader will be a builder who can bring structure, systems, and clarity to an early-stage environment. Strong execution discipline, comfort with fast decision-making in incomplete information, and a founder-like ownership mindset are important. This role is best suited to someone energized by building enterprise value and taking a business from zero to scale, with a capital-conscious, equity-oriented outlook.
Compensation and ownership
This is an owner-operator opportunity. The package includes a competitive base salary, an annual incentive tied to milestones, and a meaningful equity position in the form of profits interest that vests based on time and value-creation goals. Qualified candidates may also have the chance to co-invest with the founder. The base salary is intentionally conservative compared with public-company compensation; the greater upside is expected to come from the equity created over time.
Location and schedule
The position is based on-site at the corporate office in Sandy Springs, Georgia, with regular hands-on time at the assembly operation in Conyers, Georgia. The working pattern is Monday through Friday.
