Job description
About the role
Anthem is seeking an experienced Account Manager or Senior Account Manager to join its corporate and consumer communications team in Auckland. This role sits within a PR-led integrated communications and marketing agency known for producing high-quality work, building strong client partnerships, and encouraging fresh thinking across traditional agency models.
The position is suited to a communications practitioner who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery across corporate, B2B, marketing, and consumer campaigns. You will work with a varied client portfolio and help shape effective communication solutions that support business goals.
As part of a high-performing and supportive team, you will contribute to a culture that values initiative, collaboration, professional growth, wellbeing, diversity, and inclusion. Anthem operates from downtown Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) in a hybrid setup with flexible working arrangements.
Key responsibilities
The role involves developing and executing communication strategies, advising clients, and managing PR planning and implementation from start to finish. You will also be expected to write for multiple formats, coordinate media relations activity, manage project timing and budgets, and support both clients and internal team members to deliver strong outcomes.
You will work closely with clients, maintain strong working relationships, and keep senior colleagues updated on progress. The role also calls for leading and supporting team members while ensuring work is delivered to a consistently high standard.
What the company is looking for
Anthem is looking for someone who brings proven communication and problem-solving ability, along with confidence in creating and implementing strategic communications plans. The ideal candidate will have experience in another agency communications role and be comfortable handling end-to-end delivery with excellence.
You should have experience advising clients, developing strategic communications, writing across different content types, and leading media relations activity. Strong client relationship skills, good judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate competing priorities are also important.
Benefits and workplace culture
The company offers the opportunity to work alongside respected industry leaders in a close-knit team environment. The workplace is described as supportive, caring, and inclusive, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing, culture, diversity, and inclusion.
The arrangement includes two office days per week and the rest of the week working from home or remotely, along with regular social time as a team. A competitive remuneration package is also offered.
