Job description

About the Company

Sify Infinit Spaces Limited is the data center arm created to consolidate investments in the colocation business. At present, it operates 12 data center sites across India and provides about 200MW of IT power to customers, with two additional facilities planned before the end of the year. Its newest data center platforms are AI-ready and liquid-cooled certified for GPX-ready workloads. The organization has also delivered data center facilities for several state governments to support their digital expansion.

Sify is a pioneer in India’s internet, networking, and e-commerce landscape, known for building integrated solutions on a common backbone infrastructure. Since starting commercial operations in April 1998, the company has grown into a market leader across multiple business lines and has received recognition for its customer focus, performance, and technical standards.

Role Overview

The Power Infra Delivery role is focused on planning, executing, and handing over dependable, scalable, and cost-efficient power infrastructure for data center operations. The position leads end-to-end power delivery initiatives and ensures alignment with growth requirements, operational continuity, safety expectations, and sustainability objectives. The role works closely with engineering, operations, procurement, utilities, vendors, and other partners to deliver high-quality power infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves program leadership across multiple data centers, from design through commissioning. It includes creating and maintaining project timelines, budgets, and resource plans, while also managing vendor and contractor performance to support timely and high-quality delivery.

On the technical side, the position covers the design and construction of EHV substation electrical systems along with UPS, switchgear, generators, PDUs, and power distribution networks. The role also requires building in redundancy and resilience, and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications for safety, compliance, and efficiency.

Stakeholder coordination is another major part of the job. The candidate will work with capacity planning, operations, and real estate teams to anticipate future power needs, and will coordinate with utilities, regulators, and local authorities for approvals, grid connectivity, and energy sourcing. The role also includes reporting progress and risks to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

In addition, the position is responsible for safety, risk, and compliance activities. This includes ensuring adherence to electrical safety regulations, environmental requirements, and internal governance standards, while also identifying risks early, planning mitigations, and supporting audits, compliance reviews, and operational readiness checks.

Qualifications

The preferred qualification is a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with a master’s degree preferred. The role requires more than 10 years of experience in power infrastructure delivery. Candidates should have strong technical understanding of electrical distribution, EHV systems, UPS, generators, and power protection and control systems. Experience leading large-scale, multi-site infrastructure programs is important, and certifications such as PMP, PE, CEng, or equivalent are preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are also needed.

Key Success Metrics

  • Delivery of power infrastructure projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Higher system resilience and fewer downtime events.
  • Better energy efficiency and lower operating costs.
  • Strong vendor execution and adherence to contract terms.
  • Effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
