Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on building, maintaining, and supporting business intelligence solutions for KINTO. The main emphasis is Power BI reporting within a Microsoft SQL Server-based reporting environment, while also working across a wider set of BI tools and platforms.

About the IT team

The IT function at KINTO UK supports the business through information security, service desk operations, infrastructure support, software development, data warehousing, project delivery, and change management. The team works closely with internal business units, the wider Toyota group, and external partners to deliver technology services that are secure, stable, and scalable.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions for internal and external needs using Power BI, SSRS, and Microsoft SQL.
  • Create Power BI reports and dashboards that follow KINTO’s branding and standard visual style, with strong semantic model design and efficient performance.
  • Build SSRS reports that align with the same branding and presentation standards.
  • Deliver accurate reports, backed by thorough testing and clear supporting documentation.
  • Use strong SQL and T-SQL skills in SQL Server-based environments.
  • Assist with analysis and requirements gathering for new customer reports or enhancements to existing reports, improving access to data and insight for stakeholders and customers.
  • Take ownership of assigned service desk requests to amend, fix, or build reports as agreed with the manager.
  • Manage tickets in line with agreed service-level targets.
  • Work with information security and business teams to ensure data is clearly defined, properly understood, consistent, and that any data integrity issues are resolved.
  • Maintain strong data security practices.
  • Spot improvement opportunities and share practical recommendations with line management.

Requirements

  • You must have substantial hands-on experience with Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSRS.
  • You should have worked within an enterprise coding framework across multiple technologies, covering design, development, and testing while following established standards and procedures.
  • You need to be able to produce high-quality design, system, and testing documentation.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated and audited environment is important.
  • You should understand data controls, governance, and conformance, and be able to follow the necessary protocols to maintain them.
  • You need sound troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes in data issues and develop appropriate solutions.
  • An understanding of KINTO UK’s business environment and the relevant UK regulatory framework is required.
  • The successful candidate must be able to obtain SC clearance.
  • All KINTO-UK Ltd employees are required to undergo and successfully obtain Enhanced Security Clearance, including checks on employment history, family background, and financial records.
  • Useful additional experience includes data warehouse development and any exposure to QlikView and NPrinting administration or development.
