In this senior role, you will shape the technical strategy, execution standards, and engineering culture of a fast-growing product organization. You will lead and expand a strong engineering team while staying deeply involved in hands-on software development and architecture decisions. The position blends strategic leadership with technical depth, requiring you to guide system design, improve delivery quality, and maintain high standards for security, privacy, and scalability. You will work closely with executive leaders to keep engineering priorities aligned with product goals and customer needs, while encouraging a culture built on speed, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key accountabilities

• Set the technical direction for the engineering organization and ensure strong delivery performance across teams.
• Stay actively involved in development work, especially with TypeScript, Go, and related technologies, while contributing to architecture and major system design choices.
• Own architecture decisions and serve as the final authority on technical trade-offs, scalability, and system resilience.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow engineering talent, helping individual contributors progress into senior technical or leadership positions.
• Establish and continuously improve engineering standards, processes, and best practices across the software lifecycle.
• Make sure software is delivered with high quality and in line with security, privacy, compliance, and SLA expectations.
• Shape hiring plans, team structure, and talent acquisition efforts together with People teams.
• Build a strong engineering environment centered on ownership, speed, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO, Product, CISO, and Customer Success teams to align technical work with business and customer priorities.
• Oversee application security, infrastructure stability, and compliance readiness with the relevant stakeholders.
• Spot opportunities to introduce innovation, automation, and AI-supported engineering practices.
• Control engineering spend, evaluate tooling choices, and manage external vendors efficiently.
• Join important customer and technical conversations when needed to support product strategy and solution design.
• Lead the engineering team’s AI adoption efforts to improve productivity and automation.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including several years in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
• Strong practical coding experience across full-stack systems, ideally using TypeScript, Go, or similar modern languages.
• Experience building and scaling end-to-end software products, preferably in SaaS or platform-based businesses.
• Deep knowledge of system architecture, REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and distributed systems.
• Background leading engineering teams in fast-moving, product-led environments with a strong focus on delivery.
• Ability to remain technically hands-on while leading, coaching, and developing teams.
• Proven experience hiring, structuring, and growing high-performing engineering organizations.
• Solid understanding of security, privacy, compliance, and operational reliability in live production environments.
• Strong product and customer mindset, including direct collaboration with stakeholders or clients.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical and execution-oriented approach.
• Experience with cloud platforms, scalability challenges, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to align both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working with remote, distributed teams and rapidly changing startup conditions.
• Experience with AI-driven engineering workflows, automation, or developer productivity tools is a plus.
