Ellerslie Farms Group is a prominent agribusiness operating one of Australia's largest poultry farms, located in Millmerran, Queensland. The company employs over 400 individuals across various vertically integrated farming operations, including chick rearing, grain production, stock feed milling, egg grading, and poultry production. Role Overview
As a Poultry Worker on our laying farms, you will be part of a successful production team, working on a 14-day roster to maintain continuous care for domestic poultry and support efficient, hygienic egg production. This role offers long-term, stable employment within a growing agribusiness and opportunities for career development in a relaxed rural setting in the heart of the Darling Downs.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate proactively with a team on a roster basis to ensure year-round coverage.
- Continuously monitor and maintain the health of the poultry flock.
- Participate in training to master required skills and knowledge.
- Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety, quarantine, and bio-security protocols.
- Operate machinery and equipment for optimal poultry system performance.
- Monitor feeding and watering systems and perform general animal husbandry duties.
- Work effectively within various intensive livestock systems.
- Keep the work environment clean and organized.

- Pays close attention to detail in husbandry and quality assurance activities.
Additional Requirements
- Genuine passion for agriculture and interest in rural work environments.
- Basic literacy and numeracy competence.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and personal transportation.
- Good physical condition to handle work in dusty, dirty, or outdoor conditions under various weather.
Important Bio-security Conditions
Candidates must comply with stringent bio-security measures, including refraining from keeping live birds such as chickens or pigs at home. Acceptance of a bio-security agreement is required to prevent contact with avian species (birds, chickens, ducks, turkeys, etc.).
