Role Overview
Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver based at Enniskillen Delivery Office (BT74 4BA). This permanent full-time position involves active delivery duties across your local community, combining vehicle driving and foot deliveries.
Working Hours & Contract Details
You will work 35 hours per week across 5 days in a 7-day cycle, between Monday and Saturday, typically from 09:00 to 17:30. The role operates on a rotating shift schedule, with hours and routes varying according to demand. Pay is £13.68 per hour, paid monthly, plus opportunities for paid overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort mail items including letters and parcels at the local delivery office.
- Carry out deliveries using a Royal Mail van and on foot in your designated area.
- Provide excellent customer service and form strong customer relationships.
- Work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
What the Job Involves
- Walking long distances daily (up to 12 miles or 20,000+ steps).
- Driving a Royal Mail van throughout your working day.
- Delivering high volumes of letters and parcels efficiently under time pressure, especially during busy periods.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a full manual UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address.
- Ability to safely drive a Royal Mail van and pass an associated driving assessment.
- Physical fitness suitable for walking extended distances, climbing stairs or hills, and lifting mailbags weighing at least 10 kg.
- Dependability, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills in a demanding environment.
- Customer-oriented mindset with commitment to delivering excellent service.
- Comfortable working independently outdoors.
