Role overview
This is a permanent postal delivery driver position based at Dartford Delivery Office in Dartford, England. The role offers hourly pay, monthly wage processing, and the option of paid overtime. Royal Mail is seeking a postie to help deliver letters and parcels while representing the service in the local community.
Pay and schedule
The position pays £16.24 per hour, with earnings paid monthly and overtime available. The job involves 37 hours each week, spread across 5 days out of 7, Monday through Sunday. Shift windows include 07:00 to 15:00, 11:00 to 18:00, and 13:00 to 21:00. Sunday working is required at Dartford Delivery Office, and the rota may change depending on operational demand.

Working expectations
This is a physically demanding, fast-moving position. The pace can be especially intense during peak times.
Candidate profile
Applicants should be dependable, self-driven, and comfortable working independently. The role calls for strong organisation, resilience in a busy environment, a customer-first approach, and confidence working outdoors. A full manual UK driving licence is required, with no more than 6 penalty points, and it must be registered in the applicant’s current name and address. Candidates must also be willing to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment. Physical fitness is important, including the ability to walk long distances, climb stairs and hills, and lift or carry mailbags of 10kg or more.
Training and equipment
Full training is provided, along with a uniform and a Royal Mail van.
