Location and Contract Details
This opportunity is based at the Redhill Delivery Office, RH1 1AA, with a fixed-term contract spanning 12 months. The position offers a pay rate of £13.68 per hour, distributed on a monthly basis, alongside paid overtime possibilities.
Work Schedule
The role entails working 37 hours per week, spread across 5 days in a 7-day period between Monday and Sunday. Typical shifts are either 07:20 to 15:20 or 11:00 to 19:00, operating on a rotating schedule including some weekends. Shift hours and delivery routes vary to meet demand and will be provided in your rota.
Role Overview
As a Postal Delivery Driver, you will be active and engaged with the community by delivering letters and parcels throughout Redhill. Your duties include sorting mail at the delivery office, delivering post by van and on foot, and fostering good customer relationships. This dynamic role involves working outdoors regardless of weather conditions and conveying more than just mail – including exam results, birthday cards, and business orders.

Physical and Operational Expectations

Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Full manual UK driving license with no more than six penalty points, registered to your current name and address
- Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
- Physical fitness for long-distance walking, climbing stairs and hills, and lifting/carrying mail bags over 10kg
- Reliability and strong self-motivation
- Excellent organizational skills and resilience in a busy work setting
- Customer-oriented mindset with dedication to delivering excellent service
- Comfort with working outdoors and independently
