Role Importance

The Post Office Manager is responsible for coordinating and delivering comprehensive retail postal services—including courier shipments, postal boxes, money transfers, and call-in parcels—to Shoppers Drug Mart customers. This role focuses on maximizing revenue from the postal department while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, fostering adherence to the company's core values among Post Office staff.
  • Conduct interviews and recommend candidates for hiring.
  • Ensure that Post Office cashiers maintain compliance with all store standards and policies.
  • Provide training, ongoing coaching, and guidance to employees on their job functions.
  • Support the completion of performance reviews for Post Office cashiers in collaboration with the Front Store Manager (FSM).
  • Guarantee delivery of exceptional customer service that goes beyond expectations.
  • Ensure employees maintain a professional public image aligned with the Uniform Policy.
  • Implement loss prevention procedures and ensure compliance with parcel check protocols.

Qualifications

  • Ability to plan, exercise sound judgment, and make independent decisions related to customer requests.
  • Ask insightful questions to arrive at appropriate solutions when addressing customer concerns.
  • Execute tasks and goals as directed by management promptly.
  • Prior experience in retail environments and cash handling is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Efficient time management and excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
  • A dedicated commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Working Conditions

  • The role requires flexibility to work various shifts including nights and weekends.
