Portfolio Manager, Private Equity & Venture Capital

About the Role

Join AIA Investment Management as a Portfolio Manager specializing in Private Equity and Venture Capital. This role entails sourcing and leading due diligence on fund investments within the AIA PE/VC program, evaluating co-investment opportunities, and making investment decisions aligned with AIAIM's Investment Approval Authorities. You will also manage the PE/VC portfolios, creating tailored solutions for AIA's business units, while proactively monitoring investments to safeguard AIA's interests and maintain robust relationships with fund managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate and source new fund investments for the AIA PE/VC program.
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence by assessing fund managers’ strengths, strategies, competitive advantages, and track records.
• Advise on allocation of investment opportunities to AIA’s portfolios.
• Evaluate co-investment opportunities through thorough analysis of target companies including market position, valuation, management quality, business plans, and value-add strategies.
• Provide recommendations for co-investment allocations within AIA portfolios.
• Oversee portfolio management and continuously monitor assigned investments.
• Represent AIA on Advisory Committees, ensuring protection of interests and acting as an engaged, responsible partner to fund managers.
• Analyze performance and developments of existing investments, and suggest necessary investment decisions to maximize or preserve value.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A degree in finance, investment, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional certifications.
• Strong quantitative abilities and analytical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of global private equity markets and understanding of associated risks and performance dynamics.
• Prior experience with alternative investments, especially private equity funds, is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, including proficient report writing.
