Job description
Overview
The Shelburne Hospital, located in High Wycombe and a part of Circle Health Group, Britain's foremost independent healthcare provider, is seeking a Porter to join its facility. This permanent position offers 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift schedule requiring availability for night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various general and occasional tasks daily to support the site’s operations, including transporting patients, equipment, and goods such as pharmacy items.
- Guide patients and their families by explaining hospital facilities and services during escorts throughout hospital areas.
- Deliver courteous and professional service to both internal staff and external visitors.
- Maintain patient comfort and dignity at all times.
- Assist with security duties specific to the hospital by following security protocols and conducting patrols as needed.
- Adhere to all relevant mandatory training requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Customer-facing experience in a frontline role.
- Prior portering experience, preferably within healthcare, hotel, or hospitality sectors.
- GCSE qualifications in Maths and English at grades A-C, or equivalent Level 2 functional skills.
- Competence in computer use, including familiarity with relevant software and systems.
