About the internship

The European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights AISBL is offering a remote internship for a Policy Researcher. The placement runs for 8 weeks and is suited to people interested in policy research, human rights, governance, international relations, law, public policy, and related disciplines.

Interns will receive guided supervision and structured support to build skills in research, analytical writing, and policy drafting. The assignment includes reviewing academic and policy literature, analysing issues, preparing research notes, and producing a supervised research paper, policy brief, or analytical report.

Key responsibilities

  • Review approved literature related to policy, legal, human rights, governance, or international relations topics.
  • Write research summaries, issue notes, and analytical briefs.
  • Join online guidance or supervision sessions when required.
  • Prepare a research paper, policy brief, or analytical report under supervision.
  • Improve written drafts based on feedback and research standards.
  • Complete assigned work within deadlines while working remotely.
  • Adhere to ethical research practice, proper citation, originality, and academic integrity rules.

Eligibility criteria

This internship is open to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as recent graduates, alumni, and early-career professionals with an interest in research and policy analysis. Applicants may come from law, human rights, international relations, political science, public policy, governance, social sciences, management, business, economics, education, environmental studies, medicine, engineering, or similar fields.

Candidates should have strong written English, a genuine interest in policy research and related subjects, the ability to work independently in a remote setting, the discipline to meet deadlines, and a willingness to follow research methods and supervisor feedback.

Training and process

No prior research publication experience is required. Selected candidates will complete a 4-week methodology training period followed by a 4-week research writing phase.
