About the internship

The European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights AISBL is offering a remote internship for a junior policy research fellow. The assignment runs for 8 weeks and is intended to build practical experience in research, analytical writing, and policy drafting under guided supervision.

Role overview

This opportunity is suitable for students, recent graduates, early-stage researchers, and working professionals who want to deepen their exposure to policy research, human rights, governance, international relations, law, public policy, and similar subject areas.

What you will do

• Review academic and policy literature on an approved topic related to policy, law, human rights, governance, or international relations.
• Prepare concise research summaries, issue notes, and analytical briefs.
• Join online guidance or supervision discussions when needed.
• Develop a research paper, policy brief, or analytical report with supervisory support.
• Improve written material based on feedback and academic or research standards.
• Work to agreed timelines while operating remotely.
• Follow expectations around research ethics, proper citation, originality, and academic integrity.

Who can apply

Applications are open to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral students, as well as recent graduates or alumni from recognized universities. Early-career professionals with an interest in research and policy analysis may also apply.

Applicants from law, human rights, international relations, political science, public policy, governance, social sciences, management, business, economics, education, environmental studies, medicine, engineering, or related fields are eligible to be considered.

Skills and expectations

Candidates should have strong written English, a genuine interest in policy research and related fields, the ability to work independently from a remote setting, confidence in meeting deadlines, and openness to following research methods and supervisory feedback.

Training structure

Prior publication experience is not required. Selected participants will complete a four-week methodology training phase, followed by a four-week research writing phase.
