PMO Lead - Tier 1 Hedge Fund

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to establish and develop a Project Management Office within a prominent financial services firm based in Dublin, Ireland. This unique leadership position offers full autonomy to create and implement PMO structures, driving transformative change in technology, regulatory compliance, and business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy a PMO operating model inclusive of governance frameworks and delivery standards tailored to the organisation's needs.
• Develop and implement project and programme management approaches that integrate control with flexibility for rapid execution.
• Recruit, nurture, and lead a high-performance PMO team dedicated to delivering strategic projects.
• Create executive-level reporting, oversee portfolio governance, and establish mechanisms for prioritizing investments.
• Manage a diverse project portfolio encompassing technology advancements, regulatory adaptations, and business transformation efforts.
• Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment of resources with corporate priorities.
• Monitor benefit realization, assess business outcomes, and evaluate return on invested capital.
• Introduce and uphold project delivery best practices while maintaining necessary speed and business focus.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, facilitating steering committee meetings, governance discussions, and strategic planning forums.
• Provide insightful, data-driven reporting and offer constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Champion organizational adoption of innovative working methodologies and change management.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated expertise in launching or significantly transforming PMO functions.
• Proficient in portfolio, programme, and governance leadership with experience managing complex projects involving technology, regulatory compliance, and business change.
• Proven track record of building and managing motivated, high-performing teams.
• Comfortable operating as an engaged player-manager balancing leadership with hands-on involvement.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives effectively.
• Experience in financial services sectors such as capital markets, trading, investment management, or similarly regulated industries is highly preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or MSP are advantageous.
