Job description
About the company
The Warehouse Group (TWG) is one of New Zealand’s best-known retail groups, home to brands such as The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming. Its distribution centre is among the largest in the country, and the team ramps up during peak season to keep products moving efficiently from the DC floor to stores across Aotearoa.
Kia ora, Tālofa lava, Mālō e lelei!
This role sits in the Pick to Store (Outbound) area, which handles the final stage before stock is dispatched to stores.
Role overview
You will work in the outbound sorting area to prepare store orders for shipment. This is a fixed-term position through to February 2027, supporting the business through its peak period.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 10:30pm. The pay rate is $30.28 per hour.
Please note that extended leave is unlikely to be approved during the peak period, including around Christmas and New Year. Public holidays are not worked.
Key duties
- Place completed store orders into the outbound grid system in an organised way
- Verify that orders are complete and accurate before dispatch
- Wrap and secure pallets so they can be transported safely
- Move stock around the sorting area safely, including operating MHE if certified
- Work efficiently to meet daily time targets and dispatch deadlines
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area
- Assist team members to help orders keep moving through the process
What we’re looking for
To succeed in this position, you should be able to work at speed without losing focus on detail. The job involves regular lifting, bending, and repetitive physical movement, so comfort with hands-on warehouse work is important.
A positive, proactive attitude, clear communication, and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently will help you thrive. Previous warehouse or distribution centre experience is preferred, and an MHE licence is an advantage but not essential.
You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
Why join us
This is a fast-moving and rewarding fixed-term opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a busy, iconic peak-season operation. If you are ready to contribute to the success of the team, this could be a great fit.
Additional information
This position supports the peak period through February 2027. The team does not work public holidays, and leave during the busy season, including the Christmas and New Year period, is generally unlikely to be approved.
