Our Distribution Centre (DC) is one of the largest in the country, serving as the vital hub that ensures products reach stores timely and efficiently. During peak seasons, our operation intensifies, and we are expanding our team to maintain our strong performance.
Role Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dependable individuals to become part of our Containers Team. This position involves being the initial stage in our stock handling process at the DC, focusing on unloading, sorting, and preparing stock for onward distribution. This role is fast-moving, physically demanding, and offers variety in day-to-day tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Unloading containers and devanning cartons weighing between 1kg to 30kg
- Sorting products accurately by barcode scanning
- Utilizing RF scanners to monitor stock movement
- Operating equipment such as pallet jacks, box cutters, and strapping machines
- Performing bulk picking activities and overall stock management
- Supporting team efforts by stepping into various tasks as needed
Position Details
This is a fixed-term appointment lasting until February 2027, working Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Candidates should be aware that during this peak period, extended leave requests, including around Christmas and New Year, are generally not approved. Note that no public holidays are worked during this time.
Candidate Profile
- Physically capable of sustained lifting and handling tasks throughout the shift
- Demonstrates keen attention to detail and precision in task execution
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Collaborative team player with the confidence to work independently
- Strong organisation, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Prior warehouse experience is beneficial but not mandatory
- Must have legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
