Plastic Moldflow & Mold Design

Role Overview

Tata Technologies is hiring for a full-time on-site role focused on plastic trims tooling, mold design feasibility, and mold flow analysis. The position supports feasibility studies for automotive plastic components, with emphasis on product design readiness, moldability, and manufacturing practicality.

Key Work Areas

• Carry out feasibility assessments for plastic parts and tooling concepts.
• Perform mold flow analysis to evaluate fill, quality, and manufacturability concerns.
• Review mold feasibility for automotive plastic trims and related aggregates.
• Assess product design against functional and moldability requirements.
• Support design checks for interior and exterior vehicle plastic parts across programme plan and product release milestones.
• Recommend feasibility improvements based on part function, molding constraints, and quality expectations.

Technical Knowledge Required

• Working understanding of Catia V5 surface modeling or UG NX.
• Working knowledge of Moldflow.
• Awareness of plastic materials, molding technologies, and mold construction.
• Knowledge of common molding defects and how to troubleshoot them.
• Understanding of quality standards for function, appearance, and perceived quality.
• Familiarity with methods used to evaluate part quality and automotive quality requirements.

Eligibility and Qualification

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Post Diploma in Tool Design from CITD, NTTF, or IGTR.
• Diploma in Tool and Die Making from CITD, NTTF, or IGTR.
• Experience required: minimum 2 years and up to 5 years.
• Preferred industry background: Automotive OEMs, reputed tool rooms, or reputed design offices.
