Role Overview
The Plant Finance Head will support plant leadership by managing financial planning, performance tracking, cost analysis, governance, and compliance for manufacturing operations. This role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams to improve savings, strengthen financial controls, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review plant profit and loss statements, identify key variances, and discuss improvement opportunities with site leadership.
- Work with cross-functional teams on improvement and cost-saving initiatives such as OE diagnostics, LMS, and product cost leadership.
- Lead monthly governance reviews to track committed savings and surface new opportunities.
- Build annual Opex and OVC budgets in detail and review them with plant leadership and other stakeholders.
- Monitor operating expenses against budget, prepare and circulate MIS updates for Plant Heads and senior leadership, and highlight deviations.
- Present financial performance in monthly review forums and facilitate discussions on cost awareness and controls.
- Support the planning team with financial inputs, prepare latest estimates, evaluate capex proposals, and ensure approved or executed projects are accounted for on time.
- Review slow-moving inventory and coordinate with operations to reduce write-offs and improve liquidation.
- Collect and assess monthly provision inputs, verify completeness, ensure correct posting and reversal of entries, review GL exceptions, and help close books on time.
- Track and close overdue transactions such as RGPs and pending GRNs in line with policy and process requirements.
- Prepare raw material cost spreads, carry out variance analysis, and support costing teams in reducing differences between standard and actual costs.
- Perform perpetual inventory checks, support periodic inventory audits, and monitor closure of open orders and STOs.
- Ensure financial records are accurate and complete, maintain transaction controls, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet compliance and audit requirements.

This position sits within the Global Manufacturing Organisation (GMO). The department focuses on precision manufacturing, operational excellence, and innovation across Dr. Reddy’s manufacturing network. The company operates 19 manufacturing plants across Hyderabad, Vizag, Baddi, Mexico, Shreveport, and Mirfield, including OSD, injectables, and API facilities.
