Role Overview
As a Plant Accountant based in our Dahej facility, you will manage accounting and cost-control activities crucial to the plant’s financial health. Your responsibilities will encompass product costing, inventory oversight, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with plant-specific finance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee product cost calculations, including cost roll-ups and updates for new products, raw materials, and inter-plant transfers.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis for manufacturing, labor, and materials, providing insights to optimize operational performance.
- Review consumption data related to work orders and production; ensure timely and accurate closure of work orders.
- Monitor inventory records for accuracy, investigate unusual inventory balances, and execute adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate and support cycle counts, inventory control, and reconciliation tasks.
- Validate and process plant invoices related to raw materials, freight charges, non-stock purchases, and capital expenditures.
- Support monthly closing operations, production reports, and prepare comprehensive plant financial reports.
- Maintain and reconcile petty cash, freight accrual accounts, ERP master data, and other financial records.
- Ensure timely payment of statutory and utility bills while maintaining compliance documentation.
- Assist with fixed asset audits, internal control reviews, and continuous improvement of plant finance processes.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Semi-qualified in cost accounting (certificate level).
- Experience: At least 4 years’ accounting experience within the manufacturing sector.
- Skills: Strong grasp of costing and accounting principles; excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Language: Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Location: Must reside within reasonable commuting distance to Dahej, Gujarat.
