Planning Director

About the Role

A leading Tier 1 contractor in Abu Dhabi is seeking a seasoned Planning Director to take charge of the planning and project controls division overseeing a portfolio of significant construction initiatives. This senior leadership role focuses on enhancing planning quality, boosting project outcomes, and ensuring the delivery of high-value construction projects on schedule and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and enhance the corporate planning and project controls department.
• Manage planning teams handling several large-scale construction projects concurrently.
• Establish and enforce planning protocols, procedures, and optimal practices.
• Evaluate and sanction baseline schedules, recovery plans, and progress documentation.
• Advise senior leadership on project performance metrics, risk factors, and mitigation plans.
• Guarantee precise monitoring and forecasting of project progress and productivity.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Commercial, Engineering, and Procurement departments to streamline project delivery.
• Coach and develop Planning Managers and Engineers within the company.

Candidate Profile

• Academic qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Over 20 years of experience in construction, including a minimum of 8 years in senior planning leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience working with a top contractor on major building or infrastructure projects in the Middle East.
• Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 software and project control methodologies.
• Excellent leadership abilities, communication skills, and stakeholder management experience.
• Successfully managed planning teams across multiple concurrent projects.
