Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Planner to join our Southern Region team, focusing on highways and civil engineering projects across Kent and East Sussex. This role demands a strong background in site work and construction, with responsibilities to support project teams by creating and managing detailed project schedules, ensuring compliance with NEC contractual standards, and proactively identifying engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and manage project programmes using MS Project.
- Perform thorough monthly programme evaluations to ensure progression and changes are accurately tracked.
- Oversee two-week look-ahead programmes to support immediate project planning.
- Ensure all programme submissions align with NEC contract requirements.
- Analyze site documentation, notices, and communications relevant to scheduling.
- Track and report on project changes, risks, and opportunities registers.
- Support entitlement assessments including Extension of Time claims.
- Provide expert planning and construction consulting for site teams and Contracts Managers.
- Facilitate project recovery and manage change control with clients effectively.
- Help evolve business-wide planning procedures and systems.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven site experience in highways or civil engineering sectors.
- Strong expertise in planning and programming, especially with MS Project.
- Sound knowledge of NEC contracts and programme management practices.
- Specific highways project experience is mandatory.
- Familiarity with Asta Powerproject is an advantage.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively across Kent and East Sussex.
