Role Overview
The Planner role, located in Benalla, supports the Delivery of Maintenance Services Agreement (DOMSA) with AusNet. This critical position involves preparing and organizing work packages to facilitate safe, effective, and timely maintenance across the electricity distribution network. Operating in a dynamic operational setting where accountability and good decision-making are essential, the Planner coordinates materials, resources, and scheduling to enable field teams to work efficiently while minimizing customer disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Define work packages precisely to allow crews to begin and complete tasks without delays or rework.
- Coordinate the availability of materials, services, and fleet so they are onsite at the appropriate times for smooth execution.
- Optimize work packaging to reduce travel time, lower supply interruptions, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Prepare comprehensive planning folders containing all necessary documentation to support efficient field operations.
- Review and update Reasonable Estimates (REs) ensuring accurate planning and resource assignment.
- Arrange third-party services like civil works and traffic management for prompt service delivery.
- Manage system transactions including scheduling and planning data entries to ensure operational readiness.
- Conduct site inspections to evaluate safe and effective delivery approaches tailored to each specific location.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and secure equipment to comply with operational and safety standards.
Candidate Profile
- Proven comprehensive experience in electrical network planning, construction, or maintenance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and GIS mapping platforms such as I-View.
- Experienced in preparing and submitting switching sheets with high accuracy and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements and Victorian Electricity Supply Industry (VESI) standards.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities in complex operational settings.
- Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across field and office teams.
- Demonstrated accountability, practical problem-solving skills, and consistent delivery of quality results.
