About The Role
We are seeking a Planner to join our Global Operations team based in Wacol, Brisbane. This is an immediate hire opportunity focused on efficiently organizing manufacturing workflows aligned with demand, quality, and scheduling needs. Reporting to the Planning & Procurement Supervisor, the role works collaboratively with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Service departments to balance supply and demand, reduce inventory costs, and adapt to supply chain changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage manufacturing schedules to ensure material availability and meet customer lead times.
- Coordinate production maintenance scheduling with contractors, ensuring all documentation is completed and filed accordingly.
- Maintain contractor compliance records and database, including a compliance calendar.
- Utilize SAP for production scheduling, confirmations, dispatch tracking, and stock level monitoring while generating necessary reports.
- Update production boards and related spreadsheets promptly and accurately.
- Identify efficiency bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare comprehensive production plans by setting priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, and resolving issues.
- Communicate with Warehouse to verify receipt of goods and promptly report discrepancies to Procurement.
- Create purchase requests as needed and support continuous improvement initiatives for future company growth.
- Analyze operational data to troubleshoot problems and suggest corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to safety, food safety, and quality protocols by all staff and contractors.
- Demonstrate proactive behavior to enhance performance and manage time effectively while working independently.
- Maintain accurate records including archiving goods notes and stock adjustment forms in a timely manner.
- Uphold high housekeeping standards to maintain a safe workplace.
- Provide assistance in Customer Service and Procurement during absences and complete reports as requested.
- Participate actively in company EHSQS programs, including safety training, audits, and emergency response teams.
- Follow Life Saving Principles, Stop Work Authority, Product Protection Principles, and report near misses or unsafe acts.
- Align personal objectives with the site’s strategic plan to improve safety and quality metrics.
Candidate Profile
- Preferably has over 3 years' experience in manufacturing environments; not mandatory.
- Certificate IV in Food Processing or Warehousing is advantageous but not required.
- Proficient in SAP, MRP systems, resource planning, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong capabilities in planning, administration, and critical thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multiple teams.
- Adept at organizing, prioritizing, problem-solving, and decisive in decision-making.
- Ability to start employment on short notice.
- Resilient personality capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
