Physical Security and Safety Specialist

Role Overview

This position is accountable for ensuring the physical security and safety of Nutanix's employees, assets, and properties across the International Middle East and Africa (MEA) office locations. It includes safeguarding home office personnel, travelers, and company events. The role focuses on developing a strategic physical security and safety program that leverages advanced technologies and aligns with company risk priorities and culture.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate physical security services, including access control, CCTV, safety measures, and investigations across Nutanix facilities, events, and travelers within the MEA region.
• Manage vendor partnerships related to MEA physical security manpower and security system providers.
• Define and execute Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance standards for security vendors serving the MEA region.
• Collaborate strategically with property management at MEA sites where onsite physical security personnel are deployed.
• Contribute to defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for related department functions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with MEA regional stakeholders and business leaders.
• Control the physical security and safety operations budget for MEA, aiming for efficiency and quality improvements aligned with regional strategy.
• Respond in person to all physical security and safety incidents in Riyadh and provide remote support for incidents throughout MEA.
• Conduct unannounced physical security drills to assess effectiveness of existing measures.
• Design and implement security and safety plans for both onsite and offsite company-sponsored events.
• Lead security and safety-related investigations as necessary.
• Drive implementation of tools and processes that deliver real-time physical security information impacting the MEA region.
• Plan and oversee installation of electronic security systems such as CCTV and access control in accordance with policy guidelines.
• Support scaling and development of physical security and safety programs in line with company growth.
• Train receptionists and office managers across the MEA region on relevant security and safety protocols.
• Assist with the roll-out of environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations within MEA.
• Develop emergency response strategies tailored to natural or manmade incidents affecting MEA facilities.
• Facilitate the creation and training of floor warden programs focused on emergency evacuations and health-related incidents.

Qualifications & Skills

• A minimum of 8 years combined experience in physical security or law enforcement roles.
• Proven ability to address physical security and safety challenges in dynamic, rapidly changing environments.
• Experience managing the installation and operation of physical security systems.
• Competence in overseeing contracted physical security services and monitoring vendor performance.
• Established professional network within physical security and law enforcement sectors.
• Awareness of specific regional threats, risks, and operational difficulties.
• At least 8 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong communication skills with capability to clearly convey complex issues.
• Track record of integrating security tools and processes and leading organizational change.
• Effective interpersonal skills enabling trust-building and influence.
• Experience liaising effectively with senior management.
• Practical implementation focus paired with sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy.
• Current knowledge of security technologies including access control, CCTV, and identification systems.
• Team-oriented mindset and ethical approach, with proven handling of confidential and sensitive material.
• Degree level qualification (BS/BA) preferred but not mandatory; relevant industry experience will be considered alongside education.
