Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is for an independent photographer contractor, not a permanent employee role. The work is onsite with a specific automotive client in the Oshawa/Whitby area, and the contractor is expected to be available 2 to 3 days each week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
In this position, you will collect vehicle photos at the client site after receiving the keys to the cars that need to be photographed. The quality of the first-stage photography is important because it sets the foundation for the editing team that handles the images afterward. The work calls for sharp, correctly exposed photos with good composition.
Responsibilities
- Travel to the assigned automotive client location and photograph vehicles as requested.
- Capture images that are in focus, properly lit, and framed with strong composition.
- Work independently while managing your own equipment and time on site.
- Receive vehicle keys and complete the photography stage before handing the images off to editors.
Contractor requirements
- You must have access to your own motor vehicle.
- You need to be able to submit a clear driver’s abstract.
- You must own a DSLR camera.
- Comfort with driving a manual transmission vehicle is required.
- You need an Android or iPhone smartphone running iOS 8.1 or later, along with an active data plan.
- A clean criminal background check is required.
Ideal candidate profile
The preferred contractor is confident in photography, with automotive photography experience considered an advantage. Strong parking-lot driving ability is also important, along with a solid understanding of camera settings and how to balance them for symmetry and quality. This role suits someone who takes pride in both their work and their personal standards.
Compensation
Pay is set at $75.00 to $250.00 per workday, and the number of hours may change depending on how many vehicles need to be photographed.
Perks
- High independence while working.
- Free Sirius XM radio subscription.
