Job description
Role overview
This is a full-time, site-based position at the Soho Home studio in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The role reports to the London-based Head of Creative and calls for a highly independent photographer with strong creative judgement to oversee the in-house studio and produce premium still-life, interiors, and product imagery.
You will be responsible for running daily shoots end to end, delivering polished studio photography and video content across luxury product ranges. The role combines self-directed studio ownership with the ability to respond quickly to creative direction, particularly when collaborating with the freelance Art Director on seasonal work. A strong sense of Soho Home's visual standards and the ability to protect and elevate the brand's premium look are essential.
Core responsibilities
You will manage the Nuneaton studio floor independently, working across varied product types such as furniture, lighting, drapery, and small accessories. The position requires strong technical command of continuous lighting, especially Aputure systems, and the ability to create layered, high-end lighting arrangements for complex shoots.
Advanced capture methods may be needed, including focus stacking through Helicon Focus, to preserve fine detail, texture, and finish on luxury products. You will also produce short video content where required, supporting product pages and social channels.
In addition to creative work, you will handle tethered capture, file naming, and delivery preparation for post-production. You will work closely with the retouching team to maintain realism, colour accuracy, and material integrity, and coordinate with the Studio Production Coordinator to keep shoot schedules on track and the studio organised.
Skills and experience
The role calls for mid-to-senior level studio photography experience, with a proven record of running a studio without close supervision. A strong portfolio covering still life, product, and/or interiors work is expected, including the ability to move comfortably between rigid and soft materials.
Hands-on experience with Canon camera systems and professional continuous lighting is required. Strong working knowledge of Capture One is essential, including tethering, session handling, layers and masking, colour editing, and styles/presets. Experience with Helicon Focus is a strong advantage.
You should be able to work independently on routine shoots while also adapting quickly to live creative feedback in fast-paced campaign settings. Experience with short-form video, colour grading, and key camera movements is also important.
