Phonics Teacher (Nursery to Class 2)

About the Role

Minshe Academy & Animation is seeking a dedicated and energetic Phonics Teacher to facilitate engaging and effective English learning for children from Nursery to Class 2. The role involves making phonics lessons interactive through a variety of methods including stories, songs, games, and digital tools, fostering early literacy skills in young learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver phonics instruction to students between Nursery and Grade 2 levels.
• Enhance children's abilities in letter recognition, sound awareness, blending, segmenting, reading techniques, and pronunciation.
• Use interactive materials such as rhymes, flashcards, phonics games, and hands-on activities to make lessons enjoyable and engaging.
• Focus on improving reading fluency, expanding vocabulary, refining spelling, and boosting speaking confidence.
• Create and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum.
• Regularly evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to parents.
• Maintain a nurturing, positive, and child-friendly classroom atmosphere.
• Utilize digital platforms effectively for online classes as needed.
• Participate in teacher development workshops, meetings, and strategic academic planning.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in any field is required; a degree in English is preferred.
• Certification in phonics instruction such as Jolly Phonics or Synthetic Phonics is advantageous.
• Excellent spoken English with clear and precise pronunciation.
• Strong grasp of English phonics and early literacy theories.
• Creative teaching methods tailored to young children's learning styles.
• Effective classroom management skills and a patient, encouraging demeanor.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with online communication tools like Zoom or Google Meet.
• Ability to develop educational worksheets, activities, and teaching resources.

Experience

• Preferred: 1 to 3 years teaching phonics experience.
• Open to fresh graduates with exceptional communication and teaching enthusiasm.

Additional Information

• This position offers both full-time and part-time roles.
• Work is conducted on-site at the academy in Kolkata.
• Working schedule: Monday through Saturday.
• Working hours: 11 AM to 8 PM for female employees and 12 PM to 9 PM for male employees.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly salary range: INR 10,000 to INR 12,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
