Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled College Admissions Consultant to help Chinese students navigate the complexities of applying to US colleges. This role focuses on providing comprehensive counseling services, assessing student profiles, and guiding them through academic and extracurricular planning to improve their chances of admission to top US universities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial interviews with prospective students and prepare in-depth evaluation reports with strategic advising plans tailored to college applications.
- Offer holistic consulting services geared specifically toward the US undergraduate admissions process for Chinese students.
- Analyze strengths and weaknesses of students relative to their college goals, suggesting methods to close gaps and strengthen applications.
- Assist students in planning extracurricular activities that enhance their college admission prospects.
- Provide guidance on non-school academic opportunities, major exploration, and development of personalized college lists.
- Mentor students through the application process, including brainstorming and critiquing essays.
- Schedule regular online meetings: monthly or bimonthly for grades 8-11, monthly for grade 12 students.
- Collaborate with Chinese consultants to manage advising logistics such as scheduling, progress tracking, and communication with students and parents.
Qualifications
- At least three years’ full-time experience as an undergraduate admissions counselor with a proven record of successful placements at leading US universities and colleges.
- Deep understanding of the US higher education and admissions systems.
- Preferred familiarity with Chinese public schools and/or International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) systems.
- Excellent English writing and editing skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong verbal communication and attentive listening skills.
- Capable of communicating effectively and patiently with both students and parents.
Compensation and Contract
- Competitive pay aligned with experience.

- Initial contract term of 24 months with potential extensions or revisions afterwards.
