Role Overview
The Pharmacy Technician - Data Entry role is responsible for precise and compliant processing of prescription data influencing patient safety and operational efficiency in Empower's high-volume 503A/503B settings. This position manages end-to-end prescription data intake, validation, and system entry, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Utilizing AI-assisted tools enhances speed and reliability, supporting informed decision-making and continuous process enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Precisely input complex prescription information into pharmacy management systems using both manual methods and AI-enhanced technologies, maintaining regulatory compliance and minimizing errors in a dynamic production environment.
- Thoroughly review and validate prescription data against original documentation, employing intelligent automation to detect inconsistencies and uphold data quality standards for audit readiness.
- Identify and implement workflow improvements utilizing AI insights to optimize throughput, reduce processing times, and support scalable operations.
- Adhere strictly to 503A/503B regulations by following documented procedures, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all activities meet internal and external audit criteria.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and quality assurance teams to investigate and resolve data discrepancies, applying structured problem-solving supported by AI tools to enhance process dependability.
- Maintain preparedness for audits through meticulous record-keeping and consistent application of quality controls, reinforcing Empower’s commitment to excellence and patient safety.
- Work cross-functionally with pharmacy, quality, and operations departments to ensure seamless data integration, resolve issues promptly, and align processes with organizational growth goals.
- Continuously leverage and adapt to AI technologies and emerging tools to improve data entry accuracy, operational efficiency, and promote ongoing innovation.
- Maintain agility in learning new regulatory updates, technologies, and workflow enhancements, contributing to a culture of continuous excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
- One to three years’ experience in data entry, pharmacy operations, or healthcare-related roles, ideally in regulated environments.
- Exposure to regulatory compliance and quality assurance is highly favorable.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools or automation technologies in operational workflows is advantageous.
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician or eligibility to obtain such certification per state laws is required.
