Pharmacy Assistant - Clinical Trials (1 Year Fixed-Term Contract)

About the Role

hVIVO seeks a proactive and adaptable Pharmacy Assistant to join its FluCamp team located at Whitechapel and Canary Wharf in east London. This position is offered as a one-year fixed-term contract with an expected start around mid-August.

Our organisation specialises in human challenge clinical studies aimed at advancing treatments to eliminate or better manage common respiratory diseases like colds and influenza. Volunteers participate in studies testing innovative treatments in controlled clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, check, and dispense investigational medicinal products (IMPs) for clinical trial participants according to approved study protocols and procedures.
• Maintain strict accountability and suitable storage conditions for IMPs to ensure service delivery standards.
• Follow hVIVO's quality systems and standard operating procedures aligned with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles.
• Participate in clinical and facility audits to uphold department standards.
• Communicate proactively to resolve workflow challenges, keeping the team well-informed.
• Engage actively in team meetings.
• Implement efficient and safe work processes to safeguard patient safety.

Requirements and Skills

• Experience with aseptic techniques and handling, preparing, and dispensing medications in various formulations.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Familiarity with ICH GCP and FDA regulations is advantageous.
• Background in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is preferred.
• Prior exposure to clinical research is beneficial but not mandatory.

Work Schedule

The role requires full-time commitment (37.5 hours per week) with flexibility to cover shifts from Monday to Sunday, including day and night shifts. Shift hours vary between 7 am to 8 pm.
