Role Summary
Manage pharmacy operations during your shift, offer expert consultation to customers and healthcare providers, dispense medication professionally, and assist in maintaining the dispensary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist all customers approaching the pharmacy.
- Operate within all federal, provincial, regulatory, and legal standards.
- Maintain customer privacy and confidentiality, including managing consent properly.
- Provide thorough counseling regarding prescriptions and both over-the-counter and behind-the-counter items.
- Deliver professional services to the full extent of your scope and capabilities.
- Ensure clear identification as the pharmacist to the public.
- Verify all prescriptions for accuracy and suitability before dispensing.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in the patient's circle of care to enhance service quality.
- Keep detailed records as mandated by legislation, professional standards, and internal policies.
- Control dispensary access to protect inventory and patient information.
- Monitor and maintain daily workflow and prescription queues.
- Regularly review ``will call'' medication bins according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Inspect stock for expired medications and manage inventory levels including ordering from suppliers.
- Comply with all Controlled Drugs and Substances Act regulations and perform required reporting to Health Canada and related bodies.
- Maintain pharmacy areas (workstations, counseling spaces, waiting areas) to ensure a professional appearance.
- Assist with financial reporting as applicable.
- Review and act on store communications via internal web systems.
- Document any incidents involving medication errors or privacy breaches for customers and staff.

- Skill in planning, delegating tasks, and mentoring pharmacy team members.
- Proven capacity to lead business initiatives and support corporate programs.
- Passionate commitment to outstanding customer care.
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude, including developing and implementing action plans.
- Proficient with personal computing and pharmacy management software is an asset.
- Committed to following health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Willingness to complete all mandatory trainings and pursue continuing education opportunities as needed.

Compensation
The hourly wage range for this position is $45.90 to $59.40, influenced by experience, expertise, and regional considerations. A sign-on bonus is also available.
